SURPRISE!

We really know how to drag out birthdays around here- we like to say it's your birthday WEEK. Circus on Thursday, surprise costume party on Saturday... and her birthday isn't even until Tuesday. :) Josh took Emma out golfing while her friends and family were gathering at our house... and the ususpecting birthday girl arrived to everyone in silly costumes! It was tons of fun! The birthday girl needed a costume... and Grammie Debbie came to the rescue with a Snow White ensemble!
Is that Winnie & Emma... or TWO Snow Whites?!

Ottoman/banquet table.
Make a wish!

I didn't know Spider-Man was a Reds fan!
That is one silly Snow White!

Slug it, Asher! The sad remains...
What's that they say? Sugar 'em up and send 'em home? :)

Circus Suprise

Uncle Scott, Aunt Heather & Seth came from Iowa and both grandparents came and we all went to see the Ringling Bros circus together. We kept it a birthday surprise until the morning of... and she couldn't wait (refer to old post- Emma had a GREAT time at the circus in the spring).

Poor Seth had fun walking in, but not so much fun when we got in there...

TOO loud! :( So they spent the evening in the lobby taking in the sights!

Grampa wasted NO time getting each of the kids their own souvenir- Emma a light-up crown, Seth & Reese a cool motorcycle... and of course cotton candy!

Too bright for you, Grampa?

You would not have known it was WAY past this kiddo's bedtime- he loved every sugary minute of it!!

A Dream Come True

So our great pals Macy and Makenna invited us to go to a sneak peek of the new Barbie movie. It was free and we decided to make a morning of it. What a great idea! The girls had the morning of their dreams as they got to have their pictures taken with Barbie & see some of the movie on the big screen. Did I mention the popcorn and Sprite at 10 am? "I can't wait!!"
Words aren't enough.

Emma even won a raffle prize- pink, fuzzy Barbie slippers!

Could there be 2 happier little girls?? Macy's expression is priceless! :)

Reigning Champs

So we ventured downtown for the opening day of the Colts season. It was super crazy, but really fun. We saw Hinder, Kelly Clarkson and Faith Hill. We managed to get a pretty good view of the stage and here are some fun pics...

It's official!

Today was Emma's FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! Parents were invited to the first day so we got to peek at what was going on. She totally loved it!!

Hangin with the Luces

So we don't get to do it often enough, but we made a trip to West Lafayette to visit my BFF Jen and 3 of her kids at the park. Here's Emma pushing Haddie on the swing. This and a crazy (and CHEAP) lunch at Pizza Hut was all we managed until next time!
P.S. Pizza Hut is the BEST place to take a mass of kids for lunch buffet. 3 & under are free and after that you multipy their age by $0.30!! They have a salad bar and pizza- how perfect!

Happy 40th!

Last Saturday we had a 40th annniversary party for Josh's parents. It was a diner theme and we had cookies (made by my mother, of course) and shakes, malts and floats. It was super fun and I am forever indebted to my friends Sara and Kelly for helping Autumn and I make the shakes for at least 100 people. It was quite the bash! Thanks, Mike & Bev for being such a shining example of a great marriage!

UT Country

We made a trip (finally!) to see our friends the Johnsons in Tennessee.
Emma the animal lover petting a horshoe crab at the Gatlinburn Aquarium.

The State Fair

So, Emma has been counting down the days til the State Fair. And we didn't make it easy for her- the weather was SO hot that we kept waiting for a cooler day to go. FINALLY we made it there bright and early- just to find out that we were 2 hours early for the rides! We walked around and saw everything we could to kill time and the kids waited patiently. If you ask her, it was worth the wait! She rode so many rides and even helped her little bro ride a few. The last picture is on the huge swing ride (like at Kings Island!)... I rode it with her and she LOVED it. I can't believe how fearless this little almost-five-year-old is!
